BMS One day Regional Meeting

There will be workshop session with workshops with Dr Imogen Shore and Dr Sandra Watson (local GPs with special interests), Caroline Marfleet and Sarah Gray. Topics to include: contraception in perimenopause, premature menopause and tailoring HRT to minimise side effects

The meeting will be chaired by Dr Caroline Marfleet

This meeting is aimed at all health professionals from Primary and Secondary care who have an interest in menstrual problems, the menopause and post menopause. The speakers are experts in their field and are all nationally and internationally acclaimed. Topics covered will range from migraines, and their relationship to hormones, through to perimenopausal bleeding problems. Session will include looking at issues which older female patients find difficulty in talking about, and on how to manage the menopause after breast cancer. During the afternoon, there will be an opportunity for all delegates to take part in 2 of 4 different workshops when case presentations and management problems will be discussed.

Menopause: The Foundations.

of issues relevant to menopause. This includes:



  • Physiology, signs and symptoms

    cancer, heart disease and mental health problems

  • An understanding of therapeutic options, hormonal, non hormonal and complementary.

  • An introduction to nurse assessment, monitoring and prescribing.

6th Amsterdam Menopause and Women's Health Symposium

Details: Menopause and Women's Health: New challenges, new goals

At this 6th AMS the discussion on principles and practice of gender-specific medicine will be further expanded. The discussion will focus on optimal management of women's health, as adapted to individual women's needs; critical assessment of individual risks and benefits of HT and its alternatives; female sexuality and aging; quality of life, lifestyle and healthy aging. The 6th AMS will also aim to translate "progress in Women's Health Science" into "down-to-earth clinical practice".

For the first time, special parts of the programme will be held in Spanish, French and Italian. EACCME accreditation will be obtained from UEMS as before.
